Camp Careful all over town

Hi friends! Hope you had a wonderful holiday season with your families and a great start to 2019.

Camp Careful has had a busy month, getting some press in the Greater Waco Chamber Business magazine recently and booking lots of events. Check out the Chamber article here: https://wacochamber.com/2019/01/a-waco-advocate-an-interview-with-dr-soo-battle/

On January 14th, I spoke at the Midway ISD district-wide event as the keynote speaker. It was a great turnout and I really enjoyed talking to parents about child sexual abuse prevention and awareness.

Here are some upcoming Camp Careful dates:

On January 31st, South Bosque Elementary School PTA is hosting Camp Careful at 6:00pm. For details, contact the SBPTA Officers for the registration code.

February 19th, I’ll be doing a middle school “teen conversation” assembly at St. Louis Catholic School. Mrs. Zucha and Ms. Nagle have more information coming to families soon.

March 3rd, I’ll be coming to Crawford, TX for my first Camp Careful classes there! Hoping to see lots of my friends out there. Details coming soon, so be sure to sign up for my newsletter and follow my Facebook page.

March 7th, I’ll be speaking with the young ladies and mothers of the National Charity League of Waco.

March 8th, the Junior League of Waco and Waco ISD are hosting the 2nd Annual Women’s Empowerment Summit. I was lucky enough to be a panel speaker at the inaugural event last year. They’ve asked me to come back to lead some small group sessions. So excited to talk to these young women leaders about how to protect themselves and have healthy relationships with their peers.

There are other groups contacting me about scheduling an event, so keep your eyes and ears open for future announcements! All my events are listed on my website www.campcareful.com. If you have a group or organization that would like to have me come talk, please email me at drsoo@campcareful.com to discuss dates, options, formats, fees, etc.

Thank you, and as always, empower your kids and stay safe!

Lastly, come out and support the Advocacy Center for Crime Victims and Children by buying tickets for the Mardi Gras Ball on February 23rd at the Baylor Club. This event is the premier party of Central Texas and supports the nonprofit agency where I perform child sexual abuse exams. The ACCVC provides services such as counseling, sexual assault hotline, forensic interviews, case management, SAFE exams, and prevention/education to thousands of victims of crime in Central Texas.
